Best way to handle a major home decluttering project?

I’m planning a big cleanup project at home and trying to figure out the best way to handle years of stored items, old furniture, and things that are no longer useful. I can donate some items, but there is still a lot that probably needs proper removal.For those who have done a similar cleanup, did you handle everything yourself or use a professional service?
