How long does a professional ceramic coating typically last?

I had a ceramic coating applied to my car last spring, and so far it still looks really glossy after regular washes. I’m curious about how long professional coatings normally stay effective. Is a couple of years realistic, or can a good coating last much longer with proper care? I’m trying to decide when I should start thinking about another application.
